Report from the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine on Activities Undertaken in the Faculty

Report from the President of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Lorestan University, on the Most Important Infrastructural Measures of the Rouhani Administration in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

   He provides a brief report on the most important measures taken during this period and during the Rouhani administration.

  Dr. Abbasi emphasizes that the measures taken would not have been "possible" without the cooperation and participation of the university's management team, the faculty members of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the students.

The President of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Lorestan University, writes: "With condolences on the days of the passing of Imam Khomeini (RA) and commemorating the anniversary of the June 15th uprising and sending abundant greetings to the pure souls of the martyrs, considering that nearly two years have passed since my responsibility as the President of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine during the Rouhani administration, a brief report on the most important performance of the faculty during this period is presented. It should be noted that the achievements obtained were not and are not possible without the cooperation and participation of the university president, faculty members, staff, and respected students, and therefore, appreciation and gratitude are extended to all those who accompanied me on this path."

Dr. Mohsen Abbasi continues: "Among the important measures that were taken during this period was the approval of the faculty's organizational chart, which was one of the gaps and obstacles in the development of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. With its approval, the problem was fundamentally solved, and in practice, with this action, the Veterinary College was upgraded to a faculty, and currently, the faculty has four approved educational groups with the titles: Basic Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Pathobiology, and Food and Aquatic Animal Health.

Second: Construction, equipping, and launching the faculty's specialized hospital, which is one of the educational and service necessities of the general veterinary medicine doctorate program, and the hospital, with a foundation of nearly 650 square meters, along with a place for animal care, is ready to provide educational, research, and treatment services, and in addition to increasing the quantity and quality of students, it plays an important role in providing services to livestock owners, breeders, and other applicants. Currently, the hospital has departments of obstetrics and reproduction, internal medicine for large and small animals, surgery for large and small animals, poultry, radiology, laboratory, autopsy, and pharmacy.

Third: Establishing interaction and constructive relations with organizations and institutions such as the General Department of Environmental Protection, the General Department of Veterinary Medicine of the province, the Municipal Waste Organization, and some non-governmental organizations in order to provide veterinary treatment services.

Fourth: Landscaping in front of the faculty, which had an abnormal condition, and even traffic in it was difficult in some seasons, including winter, and the continuation of this action is the creation of green space, which is currently going through its final stages and has also greatly helped to beautify the environment;

Fifth: Equipping and launching the laboratories of physiology, food hygiene, virology, and aquatic animals.

In this regard, the above laboratories are equipped with the necessary laboratory equipment and are currently engaged in providing educational and research services.

Sixth: Due to the lack of an experimental animal house in the faculty and the need for a place for experiments on animals, a place was prepared and equipped for this purpose, and the problem was partially resolved; although the fundamental solution to this issue will be resolved by building a place with the relevant specifications.

Seventh: Due to the need for a place to hold student thesis defense sessions, a hall was equipped for this purpose, and video projector facilities and computer installation were carried out in it.

Eighth: Equipping all faculty classrooms with a video projector system (through the installation of wall-mounted cases), for better presentation of lessons;

Ninth: Purchasing modern equipment and devices with high technology for various laboratories with a cost of more than ten billion Rials, including: real-time PCR device, automatic tissue staining device, microscopic monitoring system, tissue passage device, cell counter device, animal anesthesia device, HPLC device, ultrasound device, electrocardiography device, and the like."

Dr. Abbasi wishes success for all the servants of the Islamic system: "In conclusion, I once again wish success and prosperity for all the servants of the Islamic system."

It should be noted that since August 2014, Dr. "Khosro Azizi" has been the president of Lorestan University.
